Cooper aka Ozzy’s Update

Posted on: Monday February 27

Meet Cooper :)

He’s doing very good at home. We have taken him to the vet and they said he is in great shape. He got his heartworm and flea and tick meds. We have also started obedience training and we are taking him to socialize with other dogs during his many walks around our neighborhood. We got his dog license last week, and he loves to go to dog parks and play with balls and other dogs!

We are very blessed to have him as a new member of our family. He has been working on obedience around the house and he sleeps with us at night. We walk him with a gentle leader leash and can follow commands as far as sit, stay, place etc. he is smart, a quick and eager student and has a great disposition.

Cooper loves his new family. We couldn’t be happier with him.

Jack aka Najee’s Update

Posted on: Wednesday February 8

We are so happy to have Jack/Najee in our lives!  He is just the perfect kitten, playful and curious, affectionate and cuddly, and sometimes just a little bit of a nag (especially around meal time).  He loves playing chase with Hunter and climbing his cat tree to find treats or toys, but when he’s all tired out he is such a little cuddle bug!  He has his own pillow on the bed, but somehow always manages to take over mine as well. Thank you so much to LDCR for all that you do and for connecting us with our sweet Jack.

Luna aka Akela’s Update

Posted on: Wednesday February 8

Akela, whom we have renamed Luna, is absolutely adorable. We call her
our little Luna-bug and she is such a sweetheart! One of the things we
were nervous about was introducing her to our other fur-baby, Munchie,
but we were worried for no reason.  Both are getting along great and
are very playful!

We took Luna in to our vet (Merrifield Animal Hospital) the day after
we adopted her, as we didn’t want to risk introducing her to Munchie
if she had an illness. She was given a clean bill of health and we did
a second follow up two weeks after that. We have a wonderful
relationship with our vet and they adore our kitties (we like to think
they like them the best 😉 ).

Attached are just few of the million pictures we have taken of/with
her that we thought you would enjoy!

Lloyd aka Patches’ Update

Posted on: Tuesday February 7

Lloyd (2) Lloyd
Lloyd is doing great.  We welcomed him into our home on 1/21, after adopting him at a PetSmart event.  Can’t say enough good things about the staff and volunteers who helped us out — very patient and gave us plenty of time to get to know him.  Lloyd has had his first vet check up and two training sessions.  He is enjoying two nice long walks with me, as well as a mid day jaunt with a dog walker.  He loves belly rubs, turkey, meeting people and other dogs, and sunning himself in the backyard.  His calm, friendly style is a perfect fit in our active family.

Peyton aka April’s Update

Posted on: Saturday February 4

April (now Peyton) is doing great! She loves to go running with us, trips to the dog park, and just started school. Everyone is in love with her! All the kids say hi to her at the bus stop.

Thanks for your service!

Nougat’s Update

Posted on: Saturday February 4

Nougat (aka Bubs, Bubba, Bubsy) is one happy pup!  He has settled in to his new home and role as little-brother to our cat, Asha.  Really, they are the same age, but let’s be honest… Asha runs the house.  He enjoys his morning and evening walks where he gets to smell all of the smells and see all of the sights!  Nougat enjoys going on weekend road-trips with Mom and Dad and getting loved on by all of his extended family.  Recently, Nougat began going to doggy daycare where he has made so many new friends!  When he is not busy going on new adventures, he enjoys a good cuddle-sesh on the couch with Mom and Dad.  At the end of the day, all he is just a big ol’ lovebug.

Ps.. you can follow him along on all his adventures by looking up #NougatTheBully on Instagram

Tucker aka Lee’s Update

Posted on: Thursday February 2

FullSizeRender (1)

We renamed Lee, he is now Tucker and he is doing GREAT! He struggles a little with potty training but he’s coming along. He loves his big sis and she loves him right back. Thank you for adding Tuck to our lives. He’s a lovable feisty little guy with a bit of spunk and laziness all wrapped up together like a furry little present. We adore him. He goes again on Friday for a checkup. He’s already almost 23 lbs, and the vet thinks he’ll be about 80lbs 😳😁

Arya Bark aka Vilma’s Update

Posted on: Thursday February 2

Well, Vilma is now Arya Bark (a play on the Game of Thrones character Arya Stark). She had her 2nd checkup on Sunday with a rabies shot, so she is all caught up with shots now. She has grown from 13 lbs to 20, and we’re all wondering how big she’ll end up. She’s devastatingly cute and really smart. She definitely gets into mischief whenever she can – loves chewing up newspapers, for example. She didn’t love her crate the first few days, but has fully adjusted and happily goes in there when she needs down time. Our 5 year old golden doodle seemed completely unimpressed with her initially, but they now play together all the time, and it’s clear they’ll be forever friends. House training her is still underway. Two days without an accident was great, but this morning, she had scampered upstairs unattended, and I stepped in something ugly on my bathroom floor later. Alas, life with a puppy!

She wears her LDRF tag, along with one with her name and our phone number, and now her rabies tag. Thanks for checking in – we love her!
