Bear’s Update

BEAR IS AMAZING. He’s is the best thing to happen to me. He’s the little puppy of my building with the biggest personality.

Gio aka Fox’s Update

Posted on: Tuesday December 12

We’re very pleased to report that all is very well! We renamed Fox as “Gio,” after one of our favorite Washington Nationals players. He is a happy, fun, and playful puppy, and we’re so glad he’s part of our family.image001

Gio has put on several pounds (he’s 13.5 pounds now) since we brought him home last month. He’s had several booster immunizations as well as doses of Heartgard and Nexgard.

It took a couple weeks to house train him, and he’s doing just fine.

He enjoys our daily walks and loves running around in our fenced back yard. He really likes to play ball – he’ very good at chasing and retrieving tennis balls, and he’s a great jumper. I’ve attached a recent photo.

Thank you so very much for the good work you do and, especially, for bringing Gio into our lives.

Allie is doing great. She had her check up two weeks ago and received a clean bill of f health. She has already met her cousins down in Florida. Thanks for checking in.

Maggie aka Missy’s Update

Posted on: Thursday December 7

Everything is going well with Missy. We are calling her Maggie but maybe will remember that her name is Missy Maggie. :-) She a delightful dog. She seems very intelligent, it’s catching on to some training techniques and words quickly. We have been to see our vet last Saturday, Dr. Nikki Brook, and everything is going well. She has a little bit of matter in her eye and we’re treating it with an anabiotic appointment from the doctor.

We have been to the dog park about seven times and Maggie loves it. Plus it gives her plenty of exercise and she sleeps well at night.  We have gone to two individual dog training classes and she catches on very quickly . Next Monday we start group training but we will be having some more individual sessions. The trainer last week said of Maggie that she is very quick and that we won the lottery in finding her. I hope Maggie feels the same about her new home.

My other dog died about six weeks ago and I had adopted her from Lost Dog. We had her for about 11 years and she too was a great member of our family and companion. I have every reason to believe that Maggie is going to fit in beautifully and become a real part of our family as well. Lost Dog does a wonderful job in finding new homes for dogs and cats.

Cassidy’s Update

Posted on: Friday December 1

We adopted Cassidy mostly for our 3 year old Hound Tucker. He was lonely and needed a playmate to help work off his energy.

So a friend of a friend told a friend of mine about the rescue. We live in Baltimore and made the long trip to meet several dogs with Cassidy being the focus.
She was very shy and guarded and I was afraid she was not going to be a match, but she didn’t “reject” Tucker so we brought her home. She lowly got comfortable and in the last 2 months, a different dog has immerged. She is fun, funny and playful. She is still skiddish as the drop of a ink pen and to not approach or talk to her with paper in your hand. But she is doing great. She is polite, has learned a lot of manners from her new brother and even loves catching popcorn in the air.
Cassidy is definitely another keeper. She is the 5th over a 25 year period. Usually try to have 2 dogs overlapping in age and sex. So she is almost 1 and Big Brother nearly 5.
Cassidy is certainly a success story.

Oh and I forgot to say, with mom and dad being very active in the Scottish community, she will be fitted in a Clan Irvine Kilt come spring for the Spring Celtic Festivals. Film at 11.
