Squeakers’ Update

Posted on: Monday January 15

We are so happy that we adopted Squeakers. She is a wonderful and very smart dog. She is great with the kids and they love her so much. Attached is a picture of a worn out Squeakers after a day off play with the kids.

Charmaine’s Update

Posted on: Friday January 12

When I first saw Charmaine on the website I fell in love with her sweet little face.  As advertised, she’s certainly a cat with personality.  We took a trip to the vet and she was cross with me afterwards. I had to bribe her with treats to get back in her good graces.

She’s curious but well-behaved, using her scratching post and not the furniture – and staying off the counter-tops.

Above all she’s a sweet cat that greats me at the door every time I come home. She rolls around on the linoleum belly-up like some kind of “Welcome Home” wiggle. She always wants to be in the room I’m in. She enjoys curling up in her heated pet bed near my desk when I’m working and sleeps beside my pillow every night.   I try to give her plenty of play-time. She’s a fierce mouser and will chase any toy you throw past her. Now if only I could train her to bring the toys back…

Thank you for all that you do and thank you for introducing Charmaine to my life. She’s my little fuzzy buddy.

River aka Crystal’s Update

Posted on: Thursday January 11

Crystal now named River is doing really well. She has gained more than a pound since she joined us. She loves to eat. She seems really happy, she plays with our two other cats and is well behaved overall. She uses the liter box with no trouble. We have taken her to our vet twice, first for a general check and second because she developed an eye infection. It’s been treated and her eye is clear.
I will try to post a happy tail soon. Thanks so much for volunteering for such a great organization. We have two Lost Dog pets and we love them both. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need anything else.

Bailey aka Asher’s Update

We are totally in love with Asher, who we renamed Bailey after one of our favorite Christmas movie characters, George Bailey. He’s so sweet and playful and cuddly-the best of all kitten characteristics.

Thank you so much for all you do! He’s such a wonderful addition to our family.

Bella’s Update

Posted on: Tuesday January 9

Bella is doing great – she has been such a source of joy throughout a very stressful year. Bella loves everything and everyone – truly a happy, little creature. I really think she was meant to be a therapy dog – especially where humor and excessive cuteness are required. She knows exactly who needs her snuggles – every time we arrived at my ailing mother in law’s home in Connecticut, she’d head straight for her bed and cuddle with her for hours. She always brought a smile to my mother in law’s face, no matter how difficult the day. We are so grateful for Bella – the timing of her arrival was perfect. I’m sending you a few photos – she loves our boys and her back yard – would be out there all day if she had her way. She is happy and thriving – she’s the cutie of the neighborhood and loves all her dog friends she encounters on our walks.

Again, thank you for all that your organization does – we can’t imagine not having her in our lives and will be forever grateful she found her way to us.

Kaya aka Halsey’s Update

Posted on: Monday January 8

Everything is going pretty well! Halsey (now Kaya) is settling in well. She’s so sweet! For example, I have a cold right now and she spent all night sleeping on my chest.

It was hit or miss at the beginning. She and my other cat did not like each other at first. Kaya was afraid of him and would attack him to try to show she wasn’t afraid. And he wasn’t the most kind to her in turn. Anyway, they are not yet best friends. But, every day is a little better. Meanwhile, Kaya is totally ok with our two dogs. Who knew that a 5# cat would be ok with my 70+ pound dog, but be a grump towards our 13 pound cat.

Here are some photos.

Thank you!

Callie aka Kate’s Update

Posted on: Saturday January 6

We’ve given Kate a new name – Callie – and she’s doing great!  She’s such a friendly dog, and has already introduced herself to our neighbors and their dogs.  She is getting along well with our two cats who quickly let her know who’s in charge.  We’re working on housebreaking her and she’s making good progress, and she received a clean bill of health from our vet.

So all is well and she’s already a very beloved member of the family.  Thank you again for all your work to rescue her and take  such good care of her.

Maggie continues to do very well and is learning quickly. I am so happy to have her as part of our family. I wanted to send you a picture of her since I didn’t include one in the original email. Maggie’s photo right after we adopted her is below. Thank you.
