Sadie is a friendly, playful girl with a big personality. She came into a rural WV shelter when her owners were unable to care for her anymore, and now this happy-go-lucky girl is looking for a new place to call her forever home. Sadie gets along with every human and dog that she meets, loving any attention she can get from the world! She is a young dog and a little rough for small children and should be adopted only to a family with older children.

12-25-2011 (Week 5)

“Cocoa has come a long way from when she first arrived here. She not only loves to meet new people, she also helps the other handlers with new dogs by showing the dogs how to be relaxed and enjoy being around people. She treats the shy dogs like they are her puppies. She is going to meet her new family soon and we are happy for her but we would like another dog just like her.”

12-17-2011 (Week 4)

“Cocoa will make you smile as soon as you see her because it seems like she is smiling at you. Cocoa is a loving dog. She loves to be greeted and to go for walks. She will let you know when she wants to go out but you will have to let her know when it’s time to go back in. Cocoa is one of the best dogs that I have ever come across.”

12-03-2011 (Week 3)

“Cocoa is a good dog. She shows us new things everyday. She loves to play outside and gets along with the other dogs very well especially Buddy. I think she thinks Buddy is her puppy. If Cocoa could be rubbed all day she would love it. It was wet and muddy one day and she didn’t want to come inside. She loves to be groomed when she’s wet. I know whomever gets her will love that they got Cocoa.”

11-27-2011 (Week 2)

“Cocoa is a well-focused dog. She will sit and stay when told. Cocoa didn’t enjoy her bath too much but she will let you wash her. Sometimes when she goes outside she doesn’t want to come back inside. She is a great dog and I know that someone will be happy to have her as their dog one day. Cocoa has learned to open her crate door but doesn’t do anything bad when she gets out. There are days that she loves her crate too.”

11-19-2011 Arrival (Week 1)

“Sadie (we call her Cocoa now for her beautiful color) is a great dog. She loves to be petted and will sit or lay down and let you pet her all day. Cocoa isn’t aggressive at all; she is a little doll. She loves to be around people and other dogs. She is potty trained and lets you know when she needs to go out and can hold it until you take her out. She walks well on a leash and when she pulls on the leash I just tell her no and she walks fine. All Cocoa needs is a good home with people to show her love and attention.”
