Trick or Treat for Lost Dog & Cat Rescue

Boo! Halloween is upon us, and this year, while all the little ghosts, goblins, witches and warlocks are scooping up tons of sugary treats from their neighbors, we're going Trick or Treating for the dogs and cats at LDCRF, and we need your help! Here's why...

Much of the expenses that LDCRF incurs are from medical bills for the care of our animals awaiting adoption. Adoption fees do not cover the full cost of spay or neuter, vaccinations, and medicines, let alone food and shelter, especially for those pets that come to us sick, or stay with us for an extended period of time. To bridge the gap, we depend on the kind-hearted donations from people like you.

We want to continue to provide the same standard of care for all our animals, and rising medical costs are requiring that we raise more funds to maintain that standard of care. Our commitment to the animals hasn't changed, and therefore, we are working even harder at raising funds. This year, we need your help to continue to work toward our goal, and therefore, we are asking for volunteers to "Trick or Treat" for Lost Dog the last two weeks of October.

Here is how it works

  • Sign up to trick-or-treat for Lost Dog by emailing lostdogcolleen@gmail.com or lostdogsarah@gmail.com
  • A virtual Halloween basket of information will be emailed to you with all the necessary information, a flyer, information about Lost Dog and suggested text that you can send out to your friends, family, coworkers, and other acquaintances. We'll also provide contacts in the event you have any questions during Trick or Treating.
  • During the last two weeks in October (19-31) trick-or-treaters (you) will help us raise money.
  • All we need is for you to get 10 friends, family members, colleagues and/or acquaintances to give $10 each.
  • Individuals are welcome to give more than $10 if they choose.
  • You are welcome to Trick or Treat to more than 10 people if they choose.
  • For every $100 raised, you will have the opportunity to name either a puppy or a kitten from an upcoming litter.
  • There are a variety of ways you can Trick or Treat. You can directly approach individuals in person or on the phone, you can email out our materials, you can even Trick or Treat on Facebook or Twitter, by using your status/updates or notes on your page.
  • Donations can be made by check, or by going to our designated Trick or Treat for Lost Dog page on Facebook or First Giving (Firstgiving Trick or Treat). We prefer check or online credit card transactions, however you can also accept cash and submit it to LDCRF along with any checks you receive. An individual can also mail their donation directly in to Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation.
  • Your Virtual Halloween Basket will include all the information on how people can give.

So please, sign up to Trick or Treat for Lost Dog, and help us continue to provide the best care possible for our dogs and cats.
