21430431_10155678806191552_1214933199050441427_nThe mission: get the animals already in shelters when the Hurricane arrived out and into shelters and rescues further north, so that the local shelters and rescues would have plenty of space available for the many pets displaced by the storm. Keeping the displaced pets in their area greatly improves their chances of reuniting with their families.

This video from the first wave of intake explains LDCRF’s role.

21317722_10155678806241552_2607843463787051966_nLDCRF accepted 21 dogs from Louisiana shelters on September 2 and will be taking in 20 more on September 10, and additional pets as needed after that.

In order to accommodate the influx of Hurricane Harvey evacuees, LDCRF is renting additional kennel space.  Further, many of these pets will need specialized medical care.  If you would like to donate to support our efforts, you can do so here or here
