Cassandra is a sweet cat who recently had a litter of kittens. She has beautiful big eyes that are just looking for love. She is a bit shy at first, but does warm up given a little time. Cassandra would do best in a quieter home where she feels safe. Cassandra is very sweet and loves to spend time with humans (once she knows she can trust them). She has been in homes with children, cats, and dogs and has done well when the kids and dogs are not overly excitable. She currently enjoys the company of her good friend, Phoenix. Phoenix is the more outgoing of the two and is a wonderful companion for Cassandra. We guarantee you will love this pair! Please contact lostdogcielo@gmail.com for more information.

Even after being horribly treated, Phoenix has a sunny outlook on life. When we rescued her, she had a lump on her neck. It turned out to be a metal pellet, probably shot from a pellet gun at her. Phoenix recently had a litter of kittens. She mothered about half a dozen kittens after own biological offspring were adopted. She just loves other cats and makes friends easily. She has been such a good kitty for Cassandra to be around because Cassandra is shyer than Phoenix and Phoenix really makes Cassandra feel safe. Phoenix also loves people! She made herself right at home by hunkering down on her former foster's bed the first night. Phoenix savors attention, chilling in the window waiting for her new forever home. She loves to rub up to you, and sit next to you on the couch. She is also very playful, and she likes to talk to you! Please contact lostdogcielo@gmail.com for more information.

Brady
Breed:Domestic Short Hair
Sex: Male
Age: Approx. 4 years(s)
Color: Brown Tabby
Size: Approx.
Status: Available with Foster
Good With Kids: Yes
Good With Cats: Yes
Good With Dogs: Some
Hi, my name is Brady! I’m a very sweet and affectionate tabby cat. I’ve overhead people talking, and they’ve used words like “regal” and “handsome” to describe me. I warm up easily to new situations. I like to play a lot – especially fetch. I can fetch a hair tie that’s been flung across the room and I proudly trot back with it in my mouth to play again. It’s my favorite game. Second only to playing is cuddle time. When someone sits down on a couch, I love to come over and sit in their lap, especially if there’s a blanket on it.
Here’s my story -- When I was one year old, I was adopted to a new home in Washington, DC. At my first home, I had a bigger apartment and lived with another cat. We got along so well and had a lot of fun, but my owner couldn’t keep me, so I went to a new home, and sadly, my buddy couldn’t come with me. I love my new home and Mom, but I miss having a playmate and that’s why I’m looking for a new home. My Mom is worried that her apartment is a little too small for a playful guy like me, and she’s worried that I miss having a buddy to play with and a larger house to run around in. I’ve had sleepovers with other cats since living in my new home, so I know I still get along with other cats well. I’ve even had sleepovers with a dog too and as long as they don’t bark very loudly and scare me, I get along with them very well too. My mom says that I’m good about not clawing the furniture as long as I have my scratching post handy. I’m a really sweet guy, and my Mom is very, very sad to even think of saying goodbye to me, but she’s hoping to find me a home that will better suit my needs.

Sex: Female
Age: Approx. 6 years(s)
Color: Black and white
Size: Approx. 10 pounds
Status: Available with Foster
Good With Kids: Yes
Good With Cats: Probably
Good With Dogs: Yes
Dizzy is a queen. She loves to be around people and hold court. She sits on the arm of the sofa and watches TV with us or on the speakers when we play video games. She has no interest in people food or canned cat food, nor does she play with cat toys. The only thing Miss Dizzy likes is shadow fingers-- she is OBSESSED with chasing shadows, and will lower herself to rolling around cutely to get us to come play with her. Dizzy likes the dog and will tolerate other cats as long as the whole house acknowledges her absolute royal standing. Her foster mom often wakes up in the middle of the night to see her great big beautiful owl eyes looking back at me, asking if it is OK that she is using me as a pillow. Dizzy loves pillows and has taken over a special one for her and curls up on it all the time. She has become the queen mum to her loyal subjects (the dog in the house)! She would probably be best as an only cat with a dog, or maybe with kittens.

Lily’s kittens were born on Easter Sunday. Now that her three healthy and beautiful babies are growing up, Lily is looking for a home where she can feel loved and relaxed. Lily may have not had the best past, so she is still learning to trust people. Despite this, she has proven to be a terrific mommy! She is smart, patient and she has been great at teaching her babies everything they need to learn. She enjoys spending time watching her kittens grow, play and rough house (even if that means on top of her!). When she gets excited, she rolls on her side and purrrrrs! She loves head rubs and she likes general company and “hanging out”. Lily adores her babies JuJu and Peep so you may consider adopting them together as one big happy family!

Size: Approx.
Status: Available with Foster
Good With Kids: Not Yet Determined
Good With Cats: Probably
Good With Dogs: Yes
Emma is a small Japanese tiger cat with an interesting twist of her tail. This could be due to a Japanese Bobtail parent. Emma was initially shy after her rescue from the streets of Hiroshima, but responded to the same loving family as her brother Jack and became a warm and affectionate pet. She is also front-declawed.
Jack and Emma have endured many long journeys within Japan and coming to the United States.
Jack and Emma are wonderful pets and beloved family members. They most enjoy snuggling together in sunny spots around the house and spend many hours napping in these locations. They have been inseparable. They are creatures of habit. At nine p.m. each evening, they request a bedtime snack. This has always been "Ocean Explosion" treats by Meow Mix, which for some reason, they prefer.
Their family has been transferred by the government to a location that will not allow them to bring Jack and Emma. Please contact rtaylor@sageanalytica.com

Jack is a classic Japanese Bobtail. He delighted the Japanese school children because his "meow" sounded like the American word "no." He was initially quite shy after his rescue as a kitten on the streets of Hiroshima, but he grew into being a loving and affectionate pet when he became a member of a nurturing family. He is also front-declawed.
Jack and Emma have endured many long journeys within Japan and coming to the United States.
Jack and Emma are wonderful pets and beloved family members. They most enjoy snuggling together in sunny spots around the house and spend many hours napping in these locations. Perhaps a white chocolate Kit-Kat? Like the perfect candy, Kit is smooth and sweet, but she's not at all bland. This candy doesn't like to be shared, so she is looking for the perfect home that has no other pets and preferably no small children. While she will tolerate other cats and dogs, she prefers to be the special treat. She is perfectly content laying on the arm or back of the couch but her favorite place is on the cat tree where she can look out the window.
Kit loves to chase the laser light and loves feather toys.

Lacie
Breed:DSH
Sex: Female
Age: Approx. 5 years(s)
Color: Gray tabby
Size: Approx. 9 lbs.
Status: Available with foster
Good With Kids: No
Good With Cats: Yes
Good With Dogs: Not Yet Determined
When Lacie came to LDCRF (almost three years ago now), she was one of the most timid and frightful cats we had. Very soon after getting to know her, however, it became clear that Lacie’s problems were deeper than just timidity. Poor Lacie was scared of humans’ hands and feet and her foster mom deduced that it might have been due some very scary interactions with humans in her past. Lacie lived with her foster mom and dad (and three “siblings”) for two years and made great progress in her trust of humans.
Finally, one day, Lacie’s time had come. She was adopted by a loving couple who had cats just like Lacie and could understand her issues. Everything seemed to be turning around for Lacie. But, to make a long story short, although Lacie’s adoptive parents loved her very much, the other cats in her new home did not. After nine months with her new family, Lacie had to be returned because the other cats in the household would not accept her. Lacie is now back with her original foster family and doing fine, but she is ready for another try at finding her own forever home. Could your home be her new home?
Lacie is very loving and will come to you to get petting, but only if you are sitting or lying down (or if you have food, as she loves to eat!). She is great with and loves other cats, so if you have other cats, she’d be excited about that, too. Although she could stand to lose a couple of pounds, Lacie is otherwise a healthy and vibrant cat who just wants another chance at her “forever” home. If you give her that chance, she promises to thank you with lots of purrs and nudges to let you know that you are her favorite human in the whole world!
To learn more about Lacie, please contact her foster mom Tina at tina@rodneyandtina.com and find out more about Lacie at http://rodneyandtina.com/railscats/detail/detail/42.

I was thrown out on the street, pregnant to fend for myself. Luckily, my foster mom rescued me and I had 5 healthy wonderful kittens who have moved on to their forever homes. Now I hope that its my turn. I'm so ready for my forever home. Once I get to know you and trust you, I'm extremely affectionate and purr constantly. I love to rub up against your legs and face! Each day I grow more and more into myself, no longer "Mom", but the young cat that I really am. This is all new to me, I discovered toys and finally started playing with them. So far I'm not into being held, but hey, who knows. I've come such a long way in the last several months, nothing would surprise my Foster Momma. I love my foster parents but I would really like my own forever home where I can explore every inch, settle in and be a complete part of a family. A home without small children and dogs would probably be best. I would probably like to be a spoiled only kitty who showers affection on you, or maybe have a home with a sister cat. Please contact brittany.scothorn@lostdogrescue.org
for more information or call my foster Mom, Judy at 571-268-1079. Watch my video introduction then you can also watch me playing.

If you give Trish just a little bit of love, she'll give a lot back!
Trish came to LDCRF after she had her babies in March and had no real home to call her own until roughly one month ago when her foster mom volunteered to take care of her.
At first Trish seemed like a lost cause - petrified, painfully skinny, and completely disinterested in everyone and anything. In less than a week, however, Trish began to transform; and after a month with her foster mommy, she is a totally different cat. She'll cuddle with whomever is sitting on the couch, padding over the instant a couch cushion is patted to prompt her to jump up. In the middle of the night, she crawls into bed with her foster mommy, and her foster mommy will wake up to find spindly Trish cuddled up next to her. She purrs without provocation and is grateful for any food that comes her way, especially chicken and milk. She has become such a food junkie that she gained two pounds in the month she's been in a real home.
Trish is an example of how a little bit of love and care can go a long way. She is a sweet girl whose had a rough time, and she deserves a forever home.
Trish is extremely laid back and would likely be good with children (as long as they do not pull her tail!). Currently there is another cat living in the apartment where she stays, and they get along fine.
Please contact roark585@gmail.com for more information.

Breed:Domestic Short Hair
Sex: Female
Age: Approx. 3 years(s)
Color: Black Brown Tabby
Size: Approx. 10 pounds
Status: Available at Leesburg PetSmart
Good With Kids: Older Children
Good With Cats: No
Good With Dogs: Yes
She was found along the side of the road near a rural part of Virginia. We don't know how long she had been limping along, possibly weeks.
What we do know is certain, she had been shot with a bee-bee gun which resulted in shattering her back left leg.
A kind passerby picked her up and took her to the local animal shelter which called LDCRF, who rescued her. She received the surgery needed to keep her leg, and has fully recovered and then some!
Prior to her surgery Willa immediately won over her foster on the ride to the vet. She was clearly in pain, but wanted no part of her carrier. She crawled over the gearshift to sit in the volunter's lap. She sat calmly the whole ride purring with her head nuzzled in a scarf.
Willa still possesses this same amazing quality as she loves to be picked up and put over your shoulder so she can bury her head in your neck or hair. She seems to like dogs and she looks forward to coming to your home and charming your doggie.
You may contact Mary Jon at 540.338.2235 for more information.

Classy. Beautiful. Luxury-loving. Confident. But if you think this makes Winter a stuck-up kitty, you’re wrong. She's a very social cat who loves to be around people. Her fondest desire is to be near her human companion and to curl up in that warm cozy spot next to you. Her happy purrs and nose nudges are her affectionate and wonderful rewards for your attention. This beauty also adores having her silky fur brushed and sleeping at the foot of your bed. (She does like to bask in feeling good!) Winter has had the fortune to have a couple of loving homes. Sadly, her previous owners developed health issues that caused them to part with her. She is middle-aged and really deserves to be in a loving home for the rest of her life. This would be a gift not only to her, but to you. Is this lovely and loving cat the right one for you? Winter does need some simple TLC twice a day to give her medicine for hyperthyroidism. For information please contact her foster Elainedods@aol.com.
