Violet is a healthy, active, middle-aged pup who wants to be your one and only! She is looking for a calm, adult-only home with an experienced dog owner who can recognize her triggers and help her to feel safe and secure. She can be very anxious at times, which makes her wary of strangers, reactive around other dogs, and easily startled. Once settled, however, Violet isn’t afraid to show her goofy side and will request daily snuggles. She’s a small lady with a very big personality! She is impeccably house-trained, knows basic commands, and can easily be left at home without incident during the workday. She likes to explore, whether that means going for car rides or hiking Rock Creek. While she would love to have a yard to run in, she also does fine in lower-level apartment living (no elevators) with several walks daily. Because of her anxiety and dislike of other dogs, Violet does not “show” well at adoption events and requires patience in order to earn her trust. If you are interested in providing a home for this special girl, please contact her foster family to set up a private meeting.
