Most folks probably don’t remember Miss Ellie from the old television show “Dallas” but she was the sweet, quiet, gentle matriarch of the clan and that pretty much captures our Miss Ellie. She was a great mother to her kittens who have gone off to their own homes and now she has happily settled down to a child-free life. She loves attention, but is pretty tentative about demanding it. You’ve heard the phrase “kiss and tell”? Our Miss Ellie is a “hiss and tell”! She starts every conversation with a little hiss, which then turns into a meow and then into a purr — all within seconds while she head-butts for pets!
Ellie is startled by sudden movement but when things are quiet, she will come for all the pets you can spare… and be happy to wait until you can spare more! She is very sweet, and adores being near her “peeps”: she will quietly come and sit by you until you notice her. Oh, and have we mentioned how pretty she is? With unusual facial markings and super soft fur?
She is also a bit of an “elevator butt;” if you scratch along her spine, up comes her rear end! Because she is easily surprised, she will need a family that is comfortable giving her time and space to settle in, get comfortable, and show you what a nice kitty companion she is. Ellie also doesn’t mind if you work long hours and leave the house to her all day! But once you do get home, she will meow for your attention and wants you to give her some good pets before the evening is over. So if you want a sweet, friendly cat companion who is there for you when you are home but are concerned you aren’t home enough, our Miss Ellie is just purrrrfect for you!
