Unknown Learn MoreKerem and his brother, Murat, came to us from Puerto Rico and are sure to brighten your day with their playfulness and affectionate nature. They have been together all their lives and must be adopted together. They get along well with other young cats in their foster home. Do you have room in your home and on your lap for two sweet orange tabbies? Come meet this great pair! Kerem is a playful little man with a lot of personality. He adjusted quickly to his foster home, and within hours of arriving he was sitting on his foster’s lap contentedly kneading his paws and soaking up affection. Kerem is a Turkish name that means “nobility,” but his foster says he’s a big goofball. He loves catnip, feather toys, fuzzy mice, and chasing the red dot of the laser toy. Kerem is extremely curious and pretty fearless—he isn’t scared of thunderstorms, the doorbell, or even the vacuum cleaner. At times Kerem can seem a little too enthusiastic in his playfulness or interest in what you are doing. He can be a bit of a diva cat, and may hiss at you or lightly nip or bat at you (rarely with claws) if you pet him “the wrong way” (as defined by him) or shoo him away when he wants your attention. But as soon as he misbehaves, all is immediately forgiven and the next moment you’ll find him curled up in your lap staring at you with love in his eyes and softly purring. Kerem’s foster says this behavior lessened as he got more comfortable and trusting in his foster home, so we advise that Kerem needs an adopter who appreciates his exuberance and silly antics and can be patient with him for the first few weeks while he builds a relationship with you. Your patience will be rewarded with Kerem’s affection and your amusement at this little guy’s mischievous moments and passion for being a cat.
