Unknown Learn MoreEric Clapton was not thinking of our Layla when he wrote his song but we can promise you our Layla will never say your love is in vain! The more you love her, the more she loves you back, which says a whole lot about her sweet personality because she has been through some tough times. Her former owners had her declawed on all four paws and the surgery left her with bits of bone still in her paws and one of the bones is even trying to regrow. So you can imagine how painful it has been but things are finally looking up for her! She is now permanently on pain medication and it has made a world of difference. She is now an active gal, remarkably so given her senior status, and bops all over the house. Hopping up on the cat window seat and watching the outside world (or dozing there!) is on her top 10 list of things to do and she is crazy for her catnip, but most of all she loves to be petted. A real lap cat, she just purrs up a storm when you give her a back bone rub. And petting her is a real pleasure because her fur is down right plush. Don’t be fooled by her almost “grumpy cat“ facial markings, Layla is a sweetheart and because she is such a sociable, “people“ person, we hope to find her a home where she can have plenty of love and attention. We speculate Layla might have been an Inuit in one of her previous lives because she will eat salmon morning, noon, and night. If you make her your furry companion, imagine how much time you will save in the grocery store when you don’t have to try to figure out what your picky cat will eat!
