Meet Celo! His foster family calls him Caesar, but if/when you reach out to LDCRF about him, please refer to him as Celo.
Caesar did not have the best start in life before coming to Lost Dog, but he has been thriving in his foster home and is looking forward to finding his forever home. Caesar is a very smart and very active dog. He needs a good amount of exercise (think an energetic 20 minute walk) and mental stimulation every day. He loves the bob-a-lot (a treat distributing toy) and likes to test the destructibility of “indestructible toys.
It took Caesar about a week to completely warm up to his foster family, and since then his cuddling skills are improving every day. He is very, very sweet and has such a soulful face. We do let him on the couch, but he sleeps in his crate at night. Caesar is making great progress in his manners! He already knows sit and off. This guy would excel in a training class! He can be a little mouthy when he gets excited, so a home with middle school aged kids or older would probably be best.
Caesar has been recovering from demodex, which is a non-contagious mange that causes him to lose his fur when he is under stress. He has been making great strides in regrowing his hair, but it is likely that the demodex will flair again initially when Caesar goes into his forever home. Caesar he is currently eating all fish-based food and treats. His coat looks great and he likes it.
