Nicky is a sweet and shy boy, but is definitely a people “person.” He will snuggle next to you, looking up at you with the most beautiful eyes. Unexpected noises or experiences spook him, at which point Nicky will stand or sit behind you and watch what is going on. After an hour of staying by his foster mom’s side in the backyard, he now feels comfortable exploring the yard and is now running around with her two dogs! When Nicky is finished playing, he becomes your cute shadow once again. He loves to collect all available toys and keep them on the couch or chair with him.
Nicky is learning to be good with the resident cat at his foster home. He is not sure why she is not running with him when he crouches in front of her, but they are sharing a chair, and with ‘no’ he stops running after her. After settling in and walking back and forth exploring and grabbing toys, Nicky slept on a dog bed next to his foster mom’s bed all night without any accidents. We haven’t heard him bark yet, but he sometimes does a quiet whimper you have to catch to let him out. He is 99% housebroken.
