Title Awarded Thanks to Positive Online Reviews from Community

Arlington, VA, Thursday, November 22 2012. –  The Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2012 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2012 Nonprofit,” says Barbara Hutcherson, spokesperson for the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation.  “We are proud of our accomplishments this year, just last weekend we had 70 adoptions, and since 2001 we have helped thousands of dogs and cats find homes.”

The 2012 Top-Rated Nonprofit List was based on the large number of positive reviews that the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and adopters. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit. For example, one person wrote,

“What an outstanding group of people that work and volunteer with Lost Dog Rescue. They take such good care of the animals, to nurture and calm and rehabilitate each one. They also help each family they meet to find the perfect match for them. We were so fortunate to find a new dog. The joy and fun the dog has brought to our lives is enormous! The kindness and care the volunteers showed the dogs and each family was heartwarming. We visited with each pet we were interested in (from the website) and finally picked a dog we felt was right for our family. It was an easy and through process to adopt the dog and we were impressed with the educated and caring people of Lost Dog Rescue!”

Being on the 2012 Top-Rated List comes at an important time of the year, as donors look for causes to support during the holiday season.

“We are gratified by Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation for its work,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “They deserve to be discovered by more donors and volunteers who are looking for a great nonprofit to support.”

Being on the Top-Rated list gives donors and volunteers more confidence that this is a credible organization.  The reviews by volunteers, clients and other donors show the on-the-ground results of this nonprofit.  This award is a form of recognition by the community.
