We adopted Cassidy mostly for our 3 year old Hound Tucker. He was lonely and needed a playmate to help work off his energy.
So a friend of a friend told a friend of mine about the rescue. We live in Baltimore and made the long trip to meet several dogs with Cassidy being the focus.
She was very shy and guarded and I was afraid she was not going to be a match, but she didn’t “reject” Tucker so we brought her home. She lowly got comfortable and in the last 2 months, a different dog has immerged. She is fun, funny and playful. She is still skiddish as the drop of a ink pen and to not approach or talk to her with paper in your hand. But she is doing great. She is polite, has learned a lot of manners from her new brother and even loves catching popcorn in the air.
Cassidy is definitely another keeper. She is the 5th over a 25 year period. Usually try to have 2 dogs overlapping in age and sex. So she is almost 1 and Big Brother nearly 5.
Cassidy is certainly a success story.
Oh and I forgot to say, with mom and dad being very active in the Scottish community, she will be fitted in a Clan Irvine Kilt come spring for the Spring Celtic Festivals. Film at 11.
