I can’t believe it’s been about three months already – my, how time flies when you’re in love! I realized it was about time to update everyone with Cooper (formerly known as Fidias)’s happy tail!
From the very first dogventure we went on, I knew I was head-over-heels in trouble. His sweet disposition and those amazing ears of his keep me fawning all over him – I am putty in his paws! Thankfully, he has had no trouble settling right in (most notably by declaring himself King of the Couch). I’ve never met a dog who loves pillows as much as Cooper – I routinely find him lounging comfortably in hilarious positions. He also enjoys hiking in the woods and chasing bunnies as fast as he can; he clearly doesn’t care about catching them – just making them dart off into the night puts a swagger in his step as if to say, “Yeah, you’d better run! I’m scary!” He is still not a fan of other dogs but we’re going to “school” to work on his manners and he’s behaving on-leash better than when I first met him. Fortunately, he’s the darling of (human) social events and loves the accompanying pets and treats (and everyone loves him!). I have no idea how Cooper lasted a whole year without getting snatched up before I met him but I feel SO lucky for how this worked out! I’m just so totally in love with him. Meeting Cooper was the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I will be eternally grateful to Lost Dog. If I hadn’t heard about the dogventure program and given it a try, I might never have met him!
PS The other day we were out for an afternoon walk and we found a flyer for Cooper’s compatriot Darby, who is presumably still back at Lost Dog. Our fingers and paws are crossed that he finds his furever home ASAP! Sending best wishes to him and all lost dogs!
