Julia was lovingly renamed “Freyja”, after the Norse goddess of beauty and love whose chariot is driven by 2 cats . We already had a cat named Julien in the house, and everyone was getting confused with both a Julia and a Julien abound!
Freyja is settling in nicely. She’s a very bold and “talkative” cat who tends to beg a lot for food. I suspect that she may have had some competition for food in the past. Thankfully she and Julien have developed a system for meal times and they are civil with one another when they eat.
From a health standpoint, Freyja is doing well. She continues to have some looser stools, but the vet thinks this may be diet related, adjustment, etc. so we are giving it more time. Her check up with otherwise unremarkable and she managed to make friends with all the technicians in the vet office (she’s a charmer).
Freyja is a very loving and social cat too. She’s getting more comfortable being held, loves to have her tummy stroked (and offers it up willingly), and is starting to cuddle on laps. She enjoys being around people quite a bit and seeks out interactions. She loves to play with balls (carries them around too) and seems to have endless energy stores. Freyja and Julien have started to play together too (chase, blanket hide-and-seek, etc…) She is keeping her big brother on his toes. It’s fun to see him rediscovering play-time again.
