We’ve renamed Ocelot — she’s Luna now! Although, we joke Ocelot was a reasonable name, as she’s exhibited a few cat-like tendencies, including the urge to sit in any box she finds. 😂
She’s settling in well — as you can see below, she’s made herself right at home with us. Her first few days were a little rough — mostly because she had horrendous diarrhea, which the vet put down to the various parasites she was dealing with, including hookworm. After a round of treatment and prescription kibble, she’s doing much better! She’s already put on more than five pounds! She also had some trouble healing from her spay — the vet thought the middle layer of sutures might have given her trouble — the scar looked terrible and she was oozing a bit, but it did not get infected and she clearly was not in pain. That’s now more or less healed, too.
We’ve started training with her — she’s definitely a hound and she’ll follow her nose and not pay attention to anything else when walking. Except maybe treats. But she’s very eager to please and getting used to a leash.
She’s a very sweet girl and we love her!
