“Dulce y tímida” Rubia continues to charm everyone she meets, and she has adapted quickly to her Ashburn neighborhood. Every morning and evening, Rubia and owner Megan (always with a careful grip on the leash!) race up and down a set of hills behind their condo before proceeding on a joyful jog around the neighborhood. Rubia is so fast on those hills that Megan must sprint to keep up!
Every day, Rubia (“La Preciosa”) grows less fearful of strange noises and new people. She likes her patient and kind dog-walker from Woofie’s, Jillian. She is also quite the fashion plate, a vision in her cable-knit red sweater, fetching in her houndstooth jacket, and ever-so-bougie chic in her quilted nylon coat, among other outfits. When Megan comes home from work, Rubia treats her to a special quick-step on her hind legs, accompanied by excited yelps.
Rubia has also proven game for weekend trips to Megan’s mother’s house, where another Lost Dog adoptee lives—feisty little Zella! The two are perfect foils: Zella’s self-assured bravado dovetails with Rubia’s quiet humility. Megan and mom Clare have monitored their interactions to ensure Zella does not grow too territorial, and their efforts are paying off in harmonious family time.
Rubia and Megan are delighted to have made their match thanks to Lost Dog and Cat Rescue. Sending much love and gratitude!
