Greetings from our happy cat household! I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to send a photo of Ruth & her new family. Ruth herself, who is posing artistically, is the best I can do. We are delighted with this little girl. She is proving to be a great companion for our Holly and our very chill dog, Olive, is quite happy to have her here, too. (Why not? It’s another cat food dish to clean!). She’s funny, sweet, and often snuggly. Thanks to each of you and all involved in fostering/adopting at LDCR for matching us up.
We also have other LDCR pets–Holly (fka Ensenada, adopted about 12/3/17 at Tyson’s), who is now about 16 months old and/or our wonderful Cattle Dog/Husky mix, Olive (fka Ava, adopted at Fair Oaks on 1/19/13. Olive wins everyone’s heart with her calm, gentle personality and beautiful appearance. Holly, a refugee from Puerto Rico’s hurricane Maria, fit into our household immediately, stealing my heart every time she awoke from a nap and cried out to me for a snuggle (she still does that from time to time!). Such a perfect trio to help fill our empty nest. A friend gave me a T-shirt with the message “Dogs are not our whole life but they make our life whole.” Well, add two kittens to that and, yes, our lives are as close to whole as we can get. Thanks, LDCR for your good work.
