Stella is perfect, and I couldn’t be happier. We kept her name because Stella means ‘star’ in Italian, and she came into my life at just the right time, so she’s my ‘lucky’ star. She is very receptive to training, and learns really quickly. But she needs a lot of output or she chews… so with a good kong toy, daily long evening walks and play time, she is doing really well. Leash etiquette is new, but she’s getting pretty good. Next up, staying off the couch (such a cuddle bug), and not barking when I say ahhh and she wants to play (you can’t do that in an apartment at 1130 at night!).
We are regulars at the Mason District dog park, and have even run into another dog that was at the adoption event the day I initially met Stella, Squeaky, and her family recognized us!
She is in very good health, and we’ve been keeping her for by starting to run together. She did have a bit of an eye infection just after I got her, but she’s recovered and getting used to regular nail trimmings and long walks. Next big adventure, our first overnight camping trip in two weeks. Pup is all up to date on flea and tick prevention, so I’m looking forward to getting her a couple days out in the woods.
I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to make Stella my family. She has made me very happy and I am really grateful. She is exactly what I was looking for in my life lately, and I think we’ve been really good for each other. I’ve attached a couple of photos for you!
Please let me know if you have any follow up questions. I’ll definitely keep plugging Lost Dog. I’ve met a few people from the dog park that have done through you. You’ve made some really happy families!
