We ended up renaming him Tiberius (like a little Roman emperor) and he has been a wonderful addition to our family. I’m including a few pictures so you can see how he’s settling in. We took him to the vet the first week we had him and then had the vet give him a bath the second week. He was a little shy at first, but has always been the sweetest thing, really wanting to be petted and flopping over on the floor to be petted on the belly. He spent the first couple of weeks just wanting to snuggle (which he can still do for hours and hours) and wasn’t too interested in playing with the feather teaser we got him. Now, however, he’s much more playful and will chase the feather teaser and his ball with a bell in it. We can even hear him after we’ve gone to bed playing with the ball by himself, so he definitely keeps surprising us. I work from home so am able to be with him most of the day, which has been great. Whenever we come home he runs over to the door to greet us and rub up against our legs. I think he must have been house trained at some point because he knows better than to get on the counters or scratch furniture. He loves scratching his scratching post. We’ve been feeding him grain free wet and dry food, which he eats with gusto, and he hasn’t had any diarrhea.
So overall everything’s worked out great and we couldn’t be happier! We’re really grateful for the work that ya’ll do at LDCRF and really glad we were able be Tiberius’ forever family. He’s the best!
