You don’t have to be an adult to be part of the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue team! Kids and teenagers can support rescue and adoption in many ways:
ORGANIZE a supplies or food drive in your neighborhood or at your school, community center, or religious organization.
- We always need dog treats, cat and dog food (canned and dry), paper towels, sandwich/snack/gallon zip bags!
- Eco-friendly and pet-friendly, bundled stacks of newspapers, empty paper towel/gift wrap/toilet paper rolls, and clean bath towels—those old used or stained towels work great—are always welcome.
SPREAD THE WORD to support the mission and connect people with pets.
- Be a part of the LDCRF Facebook community to help connect homeless pets with adopters.
- Take photos or create videos of dogs and cats from Dogventures or Fostering or Adoption events to share online.
- Share our Amazon & Chewy Wishlists.
MAKE snuffle mats for dogs
- These do-it-yourself mats are a great enrichment toy for dogs by giving them mental stimulation.
- Fleece can be purchased or recycled from an old or torn fleece blanket by cutting it into strips for the project.
- You will also need scissors and a base mat. Get started by watching this step-by-step video tutorial.
HELP CARE for a rescued pet in your home as a foster “sibling” under the guidance of a pet foster parent/guardian.
- Learn about opening your home as a foster family
ACCOMPANY your parent/guardian volunteer on a Dogventure to enrich a dog’s day with activities they love.
- Adventure is fun, but adventure with a dog is better!
