Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our Animal Care Center (Kennel)! We are always looking for new volunteers to join us!
We have a variety of different activities for volunteering at our Animal Care Center (ACC), including dog-walking, socializing dogs, assisting with play groups, office support and basic kennel chores.
Volunteers MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS and BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE to sign up for dog-walking.
For everyone’s safety, CHILDREN (UNDER 18) ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE KENNEL AREA.
To get started, each volunteer is required to complete a new volunteer welcome/orientation.
At our new volunteer orientation, you will learn about our processes and procedures for walking dogs at the ACC. We’ll cover a variety of topics, including our dog walk color chart and walk board system. We want to make sure that you and our dogs are safe and have a great time!
New Volunteer Welcome/Orientation Sessions are offered:

Upon completion of the group orientation session, volunteers interested in walking dogs will be scheduled for hands-on dog-walking orientation with one of our Dog Volunteer Ambassadors. This appointment usually takes about 30 minutes.
Where is the Kennel Located?
The kennel is located at 6801 Wilson Blvd, Falls Church, VA and can be tricky to find your first time. The video below explains where to find us (NOTE – a parking pass is no longer required; visitors may park in the lot by our building or in the Eden Center parking lot).
*** If Google maps says the building is closed, don’t fret. The PREVIOUS business closed. ***
